Yellow Fever vaccination?

No worries

Information about the yellow fever vaccine can sometimes be confusing. We are here to clarify this point for you, particularly regarding entry into Tanzania.

You do not need this vaccine if you are traveling directly from Europe, Asia or the United States.

The Tanzanian government only requires proof of yellow fever vaccination upon arrival if you are traveling from a country with a risk of yellow fever

However, if you are in transit for more than 24 hours in one of the high-risk countries where yellow fever is endemic, you must be vaccinated.
We recommend consulting your doctor, as they may advise against vaccination.
This may occur if you are over 60 years old or depending on your medical situation.

If your doctor advises against the vaccine for any of these reasons, you can still travel to Tanzania with an official letter from the doctor.
Showing this letter to the immigration officer upon arrival will waive the requirement, and your journey can continue as planned!

According to the World Health Organization classification, Tanzania is safe for yellow fever.
