Day 1: Zanzibar – Dar es Salaam – Mikumi

Welcome to Tanzania! We will pick you at your location in Zanzibar at about 5:00 AM and take you to airport for your early flight to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, our driver guide will meet you at the airport by our 4WD safari vehicle and drive southwest, to Mikumi. The trip will take roughly 7 hours. You will have a stop for buffet lunch in Morogoro.
Split into two parts by Tanzam Highway, Mikumi National Park offers you a chance of game viewing even before you actually enter the park gate. Animals often cross the highway or feed by the road. Featuring scenic landscapes, few visitors and abundance of species, Mikumi is sure to become one of your most memorable destinations.
As you arrive to Mikumi town, you will check-in to your hotel. After that we will take you to visit the real settlement of Masai tribe (or Masai boma, as they call it), where you will immerse yourself in daily life of one of the brightest ethnic groups in Africa.
Enjoy a well-deserved dinner, and call it a day in your authentic lodge or tented camp.

Day 2: Mikumi National ParkÂ
- Activities: Game Drive
During your full day game drive in Mikumi National Park, you will have the chance to spot a variety of African wildlife, including herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebras and elephants, roaming in savannah dotted with acacia trees. You may also spot predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas. In addition, observe hundreds of bird species, making Mikumi a paradise for birdwatching.
You will have your picnic lunch under a mighty baobab tree and continue your game drive until about 18:00 PM. You will stay overnight at a lodge located inside the national park, allowing you to experience the sounds of the African night.

Day 3: Mikumi – Dar es Salaam – Zanzibar
- Driving distance: 308 km
- Driving time: 6.5-7 hrs

Wake up to the incredible views of Mikumi National Park, and continue your game drive, exploring different areas of the park and searching for more wildlife. Morning hours are the most promising for an incredible game viewing, as you will witness the awakening of the wilderness!
After well-spent morning game drive, you will head back to Dar es Salaam with a lunch along the way.
Our driver guide will take you to the airport and see you off to the departure gate as you catch your evening flight back to Zanzibar. Upon return to Zanzibar, you will be met and safely taken back to your hotel by the same driver who picked you up day before yesterday.
